The Sunflower Chimney Bee (Diadasia enavata) is a bee in the family Apidae, found in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Its flight season is in summer, from June to August.
Sunflower chimney bees are solitary bees that nest in the soil, mostly in flat, bare ground. Nests are often aggregated.
Bees of the Diadasia genus are pollen specialists. Females are oligoleges, specializing on pollen from members of the aster family (Asteraceae), and will visit other asters, such as Ratibida and Coreopsis, if their preferred pollen host Helianthus is not available.
