Silver-tailed Petalcutter Bee

The Silver-tailed Petalcutter Bee (Megachile montivaga) is a bee in the family Megachilidae, found in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Its flight season is from May into September, with peak flight activity from June to August.

Silver-tailed petalcutter bees are solitary bees, constructing nests in tubular cavities including hollow stems, tree holes and abandoned beetle burrows in wood.
