Edwards’s Digger Bee

The Edwards’s Digger Bee (Anthophora edwardsii) is an anthophorine bee in the family Apidae, found in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Its flight season is from March until June, with peak flight activity in March and April.

Edwards’s digger bees are solitary bees that nest in the soil, often in flat, bare ground or vertical banks. Nests may be clustered together in large aggregations.
