- Flowering stalks rise to 2 feet tall from a leafy base
- Stays green much of the year with water and/or shade
- Flowers are small several to a spike with white to rosy corollas
- Whiter flowers in shade, rosier flowers with more sun
- Wonderful ground cover under pines, oaks or redwoods
- Irrigation is ok but not needed if it is growing in shade
- Flower stalks make nice filler in flower arrangements, but the foliage is its main asset in the garden
