- Grows from 12 to 18 inches tall and spreads outward form
- Flower color ranges from pale lavender to blue-purple
- Blooms March-May
- Green, sword-shaped leaves some turning bronze in fall
- Best in partial sun, but will tolerate full sun in cooler locations or dense shade but may not flower
- Add dead leaf mold to the soil when planting
- In the late fall, lift iris from the ground to divide and redistribute the fleshy rhizomes
- Stripes on petals are nectar guides that attract native bees
