This species is a commonly found member of the Anthophora genus at garden sites in California.
Its flight season is from March until June, with peak flight activity in March and April.
Short sun-digger bees are solitary bees that nest in the soil, often in flat, bare ground or vertical banks. Nests may be clustered together in large aggregations.
